I am a textiles surface designer with a great understanding of its function and application. I specialise in hand embroidery, embellishment and in prints for fashion.
I am a passionate, experimental, and am unafraid to take risks or to push boundaries with my work. Because of this, I am the kind of person suited to the fashion industry which has ever changing rules, challenges and expectations.

Got the train to Birmingham yesterday and arrived at dinner time to start setting up my stand!!! You can see the progress from the images here, took a while to position everything before I could start hammering.. Glad I had masking tape! Just got a few more sequins to hammer into the wall before the show opens at 9.30!!!
So excited for Paris next Monday! I have been asked to go to the trade show with the Amanda Kelly Design Studio to help assist selling the gorgeous prints and embellishments on their stand. It's going to be quite a long and busy few days but I'm hoping to learn a lot and see what trends are selling!
Will also be nice to visit my universities stand there and see a few of my old tutors!
I have started to build up a collection of more commercial digital designs, to strengthen my portfolio. I am most comfortable drawing by hand and then scanning these into Photoshop, then editing and creating compositions or repeats, but I have started to find other ways to design by using my IPad to draw onto, or just scanning in ink textures or shapes then adding colour with brushes on Photoshop, this allows me to create a wider range of designs.
This is a part of a design I did today, using sketches of flowers and adding the colours on Photoshop.
